Gripe water causing more spit up? and making baby sleep more?

So we are pretty much stuck at home due to this blizzard. I thought I was out of gas drops that I use at every feed for my 2 month old. I started giving him gripe water when he was having a screaming fit. He has colic that I think is a million times worse when he has gas. anyways it seems like he has been spitting up a lot more, and that the gripe water makes him sleepy. When he wakes up he is really fussy still. A month ago our dr switched him to alimentum and he was doing a lot better with the colic issues. I think the gripe water was causing him more discomfort. Anyone else have a similar reaction? Thankfully, I found a bottle of gas drops, and we are not doing gripe water anymore. For the record.
