~~PLEASE ANSWER KWIK~~ What is the name of an obscure naval rts game I played about 10 years ago?

I remember that it involved starting out in the open ocean before you and a bunch of computer boats traveled your separate ways to little islands that you could colonize. There were volcanoes on some of the islands. I remember that it had a very 'Age of Empire-y' feel to it. The title of the game was a date like: '1628' or '1458'. Please help, I've been looking all over for this game for AGES. Thanks!
