Dog Food Brands? What to feed...?
Just made a question like this myself the other day. Switched one of my dogs from pedigree to proplan (because the other dog was already eating proplan), now the gas is hideous!! I'm trying yogurt in the diet but I'll probably switch back to pedigree for the one dog. I am convinced that some dogs simply do fine on less expensive foods. This does not result in more vet bills or a quick death. My childhood dog lived to sixteen eating alpo mealtime or something like that with no major medical problems (or minor ones really). That's before foods like wellness and etc. were even marketed or well-known. All dog foods must meet AAFCO standards. Now I wouldn't go feeding "Ol' Roy" or something... but ProPlan is a good food. The vet I used to work for fed it to all boarding dogs and still says it's just fine for my dog. She is sensitive to chicken/eggs and eats the salmon formula for sensitive skin & stomachs. Good luck!!
